Description
The Wonder of the Mediterranean and Balkan
Baklava is made of layered filo dough filled with chopped pistachio or nuts or walnuts. Baklava has 40 layers of very thin filo doughs—layered and cut doughs filled with nuts baked in an oven and then soaked in syrup.
Baklava has many versions thanks to different filling nuts used inside of it. Each nut has its distinctive taste to change the flavor of baklava. Also, sometimes milk syrup is used instead of water syrup. And every culture, even every family, has a different recipe, so baklava comes in a collection of different flavors.
